Perennity Archive

Perennity Archive offers a solution for those who are looking for a robust data archiving platform. As a flexible toolkit, Perennity can also be used to easily and quickly interface any application that needs automated output of files (e.g. scanned documents, medical images, audio/video) to CD and DVD. As such, Perennity also helps you satisfy your legal requirements when electronic documents need to be retained for several years or even decades. The unattended recording process will be launched based on a predefined event (e.g. presence of a file, capacity threshold, …) or schedule (e.g. every day, week or month). You may choose to delete the original files automatically after archiving, or keep them. CD and DVD recording is performed on autoloaders equipped with CD printers (e.g. Rimage) for a fully automated process. All archiving operations can be logged into a database. A user friendly application allows authorised users to search for archived files and retrieve them.

Perennity DICOM

Perennity Dicom offers a turnkey solution for the medical industry to output Dicom images from any modality or PACS system to CD or DVD. While dramatically reducing production costs compared to traditional film, CD and DVD can as well be used for archiving purposes as for the exchange of Dicom data (images, video, reports, ...) between hospitals, doctors and patients.

Perennity uses Rimage CD/DVD autoloaders (robots) to fully automate the CD/DVD recording and printing. Its operation can be 'attended', where a human action will trigger the writing processes, or 'unattended', in which case Perennity automatically generates the discs grouped by series, study or patient. By default a free Dicom viewer is added to every CD, offering convenient browsing and image manipulation functionality (changing colors, brightness, measurements...). This Dicom viewer, which autoruns when a CD is inserted, does not require any local installation on the PC and it can easily be translated in any language. Please note that Perennity also supports any other Dicom viewer.

Perennity Dicom uses a central database (MySQL or MS SQL Server) to log all operations and keep track of which media contain which data. For archiving purposes you may optionally decide to keep available on the Perennity server all processed data - with the possibility to resubmit it to CD/DVD later on.

Perennity Centera

Although Perennity Centera was designed as a 'No single point of failure' archiving solution, most IT managers still require all archived data must also be replicated to another storage media for disaster recovery purposes. Using Perennity, information stored in an EMC Centera can be duplicated to a secondary storage device as a final secure repository like a DVD library, a DVD production system, a NAS or a tape device. Perennity is also able to act as a 'bridge' between Centera and your existing centralized backup infrastructure.

Perennity provides incremental backup of newly created objects in Centera, with the flexibility to perform backup and restore operations on demand or on a scheduled basis. Backup objects (CDFs & Blobs) are stored in their native format ensuring the authenticity, reliability and integrity of information stored in the Centera. Perennity also ensures that only one instance of each object is stored to the backup device in order to reduce the storage space.

Perennity Client
With our Perennity Client software solution, you can use any CD/DVD authoring tool available in the market (Toast Titanium, Sonic MyDVD, Nero, …) with a Rimage robot. For example, the combination of Toast and Perennity offers an excellent solution to produce CDs or DVDs on a Rimage autoloader, directly from your Macintosh workstations. No need anymore to have recorders in every Mac, or to loose plenty of time producing series of media one by one. Time is money after all.
