ABREVITY‘s FileData Classifier™ is a software solution that installs in less than five minutes and runs on virtually any Windows PC or server. You can quickly scan any Windows (CIFS) network storage systems (NFS is optional)—including desktops—and extract granular metadata such as individual words inside file & directory names (e.g; “Documents” in My_Documents), file types, sizes, modify & create dates, file creators, etc.

FileData Classifier is limited to 3 terabytes per dataset—so you can only manage 3 TBs of data at any one time. FileData Classifier does not support such advanced features as file context extraction (see Module information), advanced Group & Corporate tagging, advanced reporting and Federated Management via our distributed database technology. ABREVITY‘s FileData Manager™ is a step up from FileData Classifier, which is ABREVITY’s SMB software solution, FileData Manager can manage petabytes of information in a single dataset. Leveraging ABREVITY’s patent-pending SLICEbase technology, FileData Manager’s distributed database architecture can automatically “slice” into small, independent slices. Similar to a parallel computing environment, each slice manages a subset of the data, but also links to other slices. For example, a small slice could reside on a single notebook in Phoenix. Ten slices could reside on a server in Los Angeles and twenty slices on a NAS in New York.
